Creating a Filter

1. From the Filters List, click the Create filter button to create a new filter.



2. Provide a name for your filter.

3. Select the data source (the survey) that the filter will use.

Next, you can add one or more conditions that together will provide the filter you require. Use the Search field to help locate a survey question.

In this example, we will select the question CommentCAT:



Now, because this question is a Single Choice question, a list of available answers is displayed.

4. Check all the answers that you would like to match for this filter.

Creating Embedded Filters

If you have created filters that you would like to combine together with additional conditions as part of a new filter, as you are creating the filter and adding conditions, instead of selecting questions, click the Embed filter link to toggle the display to show a list of your available filters:

In this way, you can define a custom filter comprising of a mix of conditions and other filters (which in-turn may be a series of conditions).
